Overview

OriginalVoices is the Human Intelligence Layer for AI - an API that delivers real-time human insights ready to integrate directly into your workflows.

When you submit a query, OriginalVoices gathers and analyses responses from our network of Digital Twins - AI versions of real people trained to represent their views and preferences.

The result: structured, actionable insights you can use instantly in your workflows to improve outputs and outcomes.

Digital Twin Methodology

OriginalVoices is powered by Twineo - our consumer app where thousands of real people create and train their own Digital Twin.

Each Twin is an AI version of a real person - not an AI persona or simulated audience.

Real people train their Twin to think and respond like them by sharing details about their opinions, preferences, and life experiences.

When questions are asked, a Twin uses this personal knowledge to accurately answer on behalf of the member.

Members (real people) are always directly in the loop to: (1) train their twin, (2) update their twin and (3) review and rate each Twin answer to ensure accuracy and ongoing validation.

We're using AI to amplify and augment, not replace, real people.

Core Concepts

Audience

An audience defines who you want to get insights about. You can describe your audience naturally, using plain language that includes any mix of:

• Location: e.g. USA, UK, Australia
• Age range: e.g. 18–34
• Gender: if relevant
• Interests: hobbies, passions, or cultural touchpoints
• Profession or lifestyle: job roles, habits, or mindsets

Example audience descriptions:

• "UK, 18–32, men interested in sports"
• "US, 25–45, tech professionals working remotely"
• "18–30, fitness enthusiasts"

The API interprets your audience description and selects the most relevant Digital Twins that match your criteria.

Saved Audiences

You can create and save custom audiences for repeated use. When an audience is saved, OriginalVoices generates a unique audience_id and locks the specific set of Digital Twins included in that audience at that moment in time.

This ensures that you always speak to the same Digital Twins when querying that audience again. Saved audiences also makes insight responses faster, because we skip the audience identification step and immediately route your query to the predefined Twins.

Saved audiences are ideal when you have an ideal customer profile or specific audience segment that you know you’ll want to engage repeatedly.

Ask/Open

Use Ask/Open for open-ended questions. For these questions, Digital Twins will provide free-text answers. The API returns raw answers from each Digital Twin, giving you direct access to individual responses.

We generally recommend using open questions whenever possible, as they provide the greatest flexibility, depth, and granularity of insight.

Example questions:

• "When purchasing running shoes, what's most important to you?"
• "If you were considering buying a personal finance app, what features would you be looking for?"
• "Which factors would make you trust a new skincare brand?"
• "How do you usually discover new fitness or wellness products?"

Ask/Choices

Use Ask/Choices when you want to provide a predefined list of answer options. This mode supports both:

• Single-select - Twins choose one answer option
• Multi-select - Twins choose multiple answer options / all that apply

OriginalVoices captures answers from relevant Digital Twins, returning structured, quantitative insights.

Response Format

When you ask a question, the API returns responses in different formats depending on the question type:

Ask/Open responses include:

• answers: An array of raw answers from Digital Twins, each containing:
  • answer: The free-text response from the Digital Twin
  • confidence: Score from 0 to 1 representing confidence in the answer correctness

Ask/Choices responses include:

• choices: An array of answer options with percentages, each containing:
  • choice: The option text
  • percentage: The percentage of responses that selected this option

End-to-End Flow

1. You define your audience - using natural language.
2. You ask a question - via the API.
3. OriginalVoices selects relevant Digital Twins.
4. Responses are generated, grounded in real human data and input - and analysed in real time.
5. You receive structured insights - ready to integrate into your workflows, products, or AI prompts.
